19 Mar 2017: $1,500 to The Refuge
The Refuge for DMST™ (Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking) is a place of rest and restoration for child survivors of sex trafficking. The Refuge has a very specific mission: To provide trauma-informed, long-term restoration community with on-site services for girls, minors through age 19, who have been exploited through sex trafficking.
Our nation has only recently begun to recognize that we have a severe societal problem in regards to the commercial sexual exploitation of children, also known as domestic minor sex trafficking. As more children are identified and rescued from their exploitive situation, there is a growing need for comprehensive, long-term, trauma-informed services to allow the child to heal and live a life of productivity and hope.
ABLE is proud to have selected the Refuge as its 2017 charity of choice.
